One of the UK's most popular long-distance cycling routes passes close to The Barn Tempsford, making it an ideal base for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.
National Cycle Route 51 forms part of the National Cycle Network, connecting Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Sandy, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and on towards the Suffolk coast. Around Bedfordshire, it includes a mix of quiet country lanes and traffic-free paths through beautiful countryside.
Whether you're planning a leisurely ride through local villages or tackling a longer section of the route, you'll enjoy peaceful scenery, riverside paths and easy access to local cafés and pubs along the way. Join the path at Blunham, Sandy or Willington or you can also walk from The Barn if you want a longer walk.

Follow the picturesque River Ivel through peaceful villages, nature reserves and open countryside. The Kingfisher Way finishes close to Tempsford, making it an excellent choice for guests staying at The Barn. Ian, your Host, has ran this route many times. It can get overgrown so always good to check first.
